Position: Electronics Design Engineer                     

Suitable for: Embedded Software Engineer with C and Assembly experience

Location: Shipley, West Yorkshire (close to train station)               

Salary: £30k – £50k depending on level of experience

Our client is looking for an Electronics Design Engineer for a full-time position within the Research & Development team of an international company.

Within this role you will take ownership of maintenance and development of software/firmware solutions for the product range.

As Electronics Design Engineer, you will be working within a small on-site team located within our large office space situated between Bradford and Shipley. You will have exposure to the full development process of products, plus you will have the opportunity to share ideas and learn from the established and long serving R & D team.

Skills/attributes:

  • Minimum 3 – 5 years’ experience as an Electronics Design Engineer, Embedded Software Engineer or similar
  • Embedded Microcontroller Design using C/ Assembly language
  • Experience of analogue and Digital Circuit Design
  • PCB design
  • Previous experience of Product Testing / EMC Compliance
  • Experience of using electronic CAD packages such as Altium

Desirable:

  • Degree level qualification in a relevant engineering discipline or HNC/HND with appropriate experience.
  • 5 years’ experience of electronic development in a relevant industry or environment, preferably instrumentation.

Role and Responsibilities of the Electronics Design Engineer:

  • Project Management
  • Electronics design encompassing full lifecycle development
  • Collect project requirements and generate specifications
  • Produce prototypes
  • Design and execute test plans for prototype
  • Product Testing / EMC Compliance
  • Design production test equipment and software
  • Assist in the production of supporting documentation
  • To undertake, within reason any other task within the department at the request of a manager or local Director
  • Work on the design and development of new projects to meet the customer requirements.
