Profile

Senior leader with over 30 years’ experience in healthcare including project management, PAS / EPR cutover planning, hypercare resourcing and business continuity planning, along with strong financial and commercial management, leadership, budget development and forecasting, capital investment planning and general management as well as continuous review and improvement of internal processes and workflows.

Proven history of financial and operational management within complex, multi-site service industries with matrix management structures, delivering excellent financial performance within a robust governance framework. Adept at collaborating with colleagues and industry professionals, building and maintaining relationships, team building and prioritising organisation goals and objectives. Methodical thinker and innovative analytical person, willing to challenge with strong leadership and communication skills.

Key Strengths & Contributions:

  • Project management – led IT & financial business case production for major projects (up to £40m), working with a multi- functional team and successfully managed financials throughout the project, from inception to post investment appraisal with CFO and CEO. These projects relate to building new hospitals and major IT system deployment both clinical & financial.
  • Cutover Manager – led major NHS PAS deployments, working closely with the Programme Manager across multi-site NHS Trusts, overseeing the Go-Live planning, business continuity and resourcing.

Interim Project Manager – March 2025 – July 2025 – NHS Trust

Project managing the Patient Engagement Portal team in deploying XXX across XXX and their trust ‘Teams.’  Defining, developing, and implementing the project phases of XXX perioperative pathways. Building the project framework and structure to move the PEP team onwards into a BAU functional team within the trust and supporting their integrated care pathways.

Significant Contributions:

  • Define and develop the governance structure for the project, including writing the PID, RAID Logs, DPIA, Clinical Safety Case Report & Change Logs with the trusts IT and IG leads.
  • Setup the project team structure and wider stakeholder engagement plans, formalising the high level project and deployment plans.

Brought into setting up the Go-Live planning and strategy, building the framework around XXX’s cutover plans for their EPR deployment, before passing this on to the internal trust project team. Project planning the deployment of the EPR system, both from a technical plan but also operational and resource planning building up to and over the Go-Live period and into the Sustainment period. Working with the Trust to ensure they have a robust Trust wide Business Continuity plan for the clinical and administration areas over the deployment.

Significant Contributions:

  • Develop and define the Go-Live Technical & Operational Strategy plans for XXX’s deployment of the EPR.
  • Planning the ‘Full-Dress Rehearsal, both around the Technical and Operational requirements, meeting with the Trusts key stakeholders.
  • Developing the ‘cutover’ plans and schedules around the Technical Go-Live, and aligning the downstream systems to ensure these are synchronized as the Trust works towards its Operational Go-Live date.

Project planning the deployment of ‘XXX’ EPR system, both from a technical plan but also operational and resource planning building up to and over the Go-Live period and into hypercare. Help develop a Trust wide Business Continuity plan for the clinical and administration areas over the deployment weekend, while the systems are off-line. Working with the Trusts Business Continuity team and Care Groups and engaging with the trust’s key stakeholders.

  • Define, develop, and implement cutover plans for XXX EPR deployment across their five trusts to support harmonisation of organisational data and information.

Project planning from the business case through to deployment phases, working closely with XXX methodology through the various phases of the project, overseeing a team of 20+ staff and a wide range of stakeholders. Working closely with the senior management of the trusts, ICB and third-party suppliers.

Help develop a Trust wide Business Continuity plan for the clinical and administration areas over the deployment weekend, while the systems are off-line. Project managed the key workstream PM’s, working as the deputy to the Program Manager and engaging with the trust’s key stakeholders.

Significant Contributions:

  • Define, develop, and implement cutover plans for the migration of the Trust’s PAS systems into one new instance across the five trusts to support harmonisation of organisational data and information.

Project managed three healthcare deployments for XXX from initial setup, vendor engagement, training and through to deployment. Set up the project document structure, oversaw the integrations and led a trusts clinical and administrative team through engagement, training and then into deployment.

  • Project managed 3 healthcare application deployments across one of the largest NHS trusts in the UK in parallel and supporting those teams through a tight deployment timeline.
  • Feed into the main eHospital committee and sub-committees on progress and dealing with both the internal and external stakeholders on a weekly basis.
  • Successful go lives across the trust, working through an agile approach specialty by specialty, working with the project team developing internal training and communication plans and supporting the trusts pre go live readiness, cut over plans and hypercare post go live.

Project managed a major Healthcare Electronic Patient Records deployment, from the initial capital funding requirements, development of the RFI and RFP documentation, through the selection team for choosing the supplier, setting up the project base and initial project team, through the design build and proof of concept phases and worked with the supplier over the final PID document.  Led a team into deployment phase, working with other workstreams around the deployment framework, data migration, cutover and training plans resulting in a successful go live with sites. Project managed the hypercare, upgrades to the system and working alongside the BAU support team. Recently moved over as a SME to help support the deployment of a new financial system (Workday & Cloud Financials). Working within the OTC team through the discovery phase, building the plan, configuring the system, writing test scripts, and testing the pathways with the goal to deploy companywide back in November 2021.
