Profile

Detail-oriented and NMC-registered Mental Health Nurse transitioning into a software testing and digital health delivery role, with hands-on experience in clinical safety, system testing, and electronic patient record (EPR) implementation.

Currently working as a Clinical Systems Engagement Practitioner and Qualified Clinical Safety Officer, with a proven track record of supporting safe, user-centred system changes across agile project teams. Skilled in manual testing, writing and executing test scripts, defect tracking, and using tools like Azure DevOps to deliver clinically safe and operationally effective digital solutions.

April 2024 – Oct 2025 – Clinical Systems Engagement Specialist (EPR software) – Private Healthcare provider

Plays a key role in delivery and optimisation of electronic patient records (EPR) across social care and healthcare services.  Was originally brought in to support a major EPR rollout including on site GO live attendance and training, however, role has since evolved significantly. Now leads on stakeholder engagement, gathering system requirements, mapping clinical workflows, co-ordinating across clinical teams and developers to ensure the safe and effective deployment of new features/changes.

Also responsible for leading on testing and QA efforts, writing and executing test scripts with the use of Azure DevOps to map processes. Additionally, produces user facing educational materials, training content, and user communications to support adoption. In the clinical safety element of the role, actively supports digital health compliance, including the production of Clinical Safety Case Reports, maintenance of hazard logs, and alignment with DCB0129/0160 standards.  This role requires strong organisational skills, agile working experience, and a deep understanding of clinical user needs and digital safety.

April 2021 – April 2024 – Bank Staff Nurse – NHS

Mental health nurse working on a bank/ causal basis to cover staff shortages in a variety of NHS mental health settings. Settings included inpatient wards, adult services, children and adolescent services, perinatal mental health, elderly care, community services and more. Duties included general patient care, delegating and supervising junior staff, administering medication, responding to emergencies, processing referrals, taking observations etc.

Nov 2021 – Feb 2022 (FTC) – Wellbeing Triage Advisor – London University

Full time in the University’s mental health and wellbeing team for students. Duties included contacting all students who reached out or were referred by staff to the service, answering quick queries, triaging needs, and assessing risk and safety needs using a service specific triage questionnaire. Booking appointments for students requiring one-to one intervention with the team and appropriately signpost students to other appropriate resources both within Student Services, the broader university and where appropriate, external to the university.

Dec 2020 – April 2021 – Staff Nurse – private healthcare 

Mental Health Nurse in the private sector on an acute ward, on a full-time basis. Duties included looking after patients, responding to emergencies, administering medication, undertaking the admission process for new patients, escorting patients, attending MDT meetings, undertaking ward activities, daily mental state examinations, risk assessments, transferring and discharging patients, accurate documentation and more.

Nov 2019 – Dec 2020 – Staff Nurse – NHS Foundation Trust

Mental Health Nurse on an admission ward, on a full-time basis. Duties included  looking after patients, responding to emergencies, administering medication, undertaking the admission process for new patients, attending MDT meetings, undertaking ward activities, daily mental state examinations, risk assessments, transferring and discharging patients, accurate documentation and more.

April 2018 – May 2020 – Bank Healthcare Assistant – Mental Health Trust

Healthcare Assistant working on a bank/causal basis to cover staff shortages, within a variety of SWLSTG mental health settings. Duties included assisting patients with daily activities, checking vital signs and assisting nursing staff when necessary.
