Profile

Health IT, Clinical Systems, and Integration Specialist with over 12 years of experience in Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) and Lab IT applications, and 7 years in Radiology IT systems. Recognized domain expert in Pathology Lab IT (LIMS, HL7 interfaces, data extraction) and Radiology Systems (RIS, PACS, DICOM, HL7 integration).

Currently serving in a senior integration role within the diagnostic imaging sector, leading the design and implementation of HL7 interfaces, DICOM integrations, and end-to-end clinical workflows. Responsible for managing integration projects, vendor coordination, and cross-functional collaboration. Proactive in interface maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Deep understanding of clinical lab and radiology workflows, patient pathways, and healthcare interoperability.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with LIMS, OrderComms, and Radiology systems across all major laboratory disciplines.
  • Skilled in interface engines (e.g., Mirth Connect), SQL Server, and scripting languages (JavaScript, XML, JSON).
  • Proven track record in implementing and enhancing LIMS platforms, including configuration, validation, and user training.
  • Strong business analysis, data extraction, reporting, QA/testing, and root cause analysis capabilities.
  • Familiar with analyser interfaces and lab accreditation standards (e.g., ISO 15189).
  • Knowledgeable in networking, Active Directory, firewalls, and data governance (Caldicott, GDPR).
  • Experienced in Lean Six Sigma methodologies for operational improvement.

Principal Integration Engineer (Sept 2021 – Present) – Diagnostic Imaging Sector

Leading the planning, design, and implementation of HL7 interfaces and DICOM integrations. Responsible for all integration projects, vendor coordination, and cross-functional collaboration. Proactively maintaining and troubleshooting clinical workflows and interfaces.

Software Integration Specialist (June 2019 – Sept 2021) – Prenatal & Neonatal Screening Sector

Integrated prenatal and neonatal screening software across the EMEA region. Managed upgrades, change requests, and third-level support. Configured workflow modules and integrated software with laboratory instruments.

Lab Informatics Specialist (Middleware) (Jan 2019 – May 2019) – Pathology IT Sector

Field-based role supporting NHS pathology labs. Implemented and configured middleware between analysers and LIMS, including integration with lab automation systems.

Pathology IT Implementation Lead (Feb 2018 – Dec 2018) – NHS Trust / Pathology IT Sector
