Suitable for:       Software Developer, Cloud Developer or Software Engineer with Node.js and cloud / AWS or Azure experience

Location:            Ideally part time in the office or occasional visits but would consider it fully remote – York, North Yorkshire

Salary:                £35k - £45k + 31 days hol, flexible working

Our client is looking for a Software Developer or Software Engineer with strong cloud AWS or Azure and Node.js experience capable of architecting and delivering complex custom cloud solutions.

The Software Developer / Cloud Software Engineer will be primarily focused on building bespoke backend applications, including creating and further developing proprietary solutions such as mobile CMS solution as well as creating API’s; implementing complex business logic; supporting integration across mobile apps and 3rd party systems.

The role will focus on building serverless backend systems using AWS Lambda / Azure (where necessary, suitable training will be provided).


  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Software Developer or Cloud Software Engineer or good Backend Developer
  • AWS (devops) or Azure experience
  • Expertise in JavaScript, specifically Node.js
  • Delivering high quality, robust and testable code
  • Experience developing REST APIs
  • Knowledge of TDD or BDD approaches to developing software
  • Ability to write unit tests
  • Experience of PostgreSQL databases


It would be a bonus if you had any of the following:

  • GraphQL
  • Azure
  • Serverless experience
  • DevOps; familiarity with the CLI and Linux administration
  • Project estimating/quoting
  • JIRA
