Suitable for: Python Developer or Python Software Engineer

Location: Leeds, West Yorkshire

Duration: 2-3 months initially, possible extension

Salary: day rate negotiable (outside IR35 - TBC)                          

Our client is looking for an experienced Python Developer / Python Software Engineer to take on responsibility and accountability for software development projects and initiatives.


  • Minimum 2 years experience as Python Developer or Python Software Engineer or similar
  • 2+ years of commercial experience with Python as main language
  • Skilled in developing Python Lambda functions
  • Experience of development in AWS
  • Experience of working Agile Scrum teams and agile ways of working
  • Ability and willingness to share ideas and collaborate
  • SQL experience
  • Good collaboration and sound team player

Skills Required:

  • Strong commercial software engineering experience of software development in Python with APIs
  • Django or Flask or similar frameworks
  • Strong practice of TDD development principles and continuous integration
  • Continuous integration, build tools (Jenkins, Ansible) and scripting
  • Use of source code version control –Git, Subversion or Mercurial

The Role:

As Python Developer / Python Software Engineer, the responsibilities in the role will include, but not be limited to the following:

  • Understanding of both functional and non-functional requirements to produce well designed software, including the ability to communicate your design to others including clients
  • Development and testing of software components to a high standard within a team
  • Understanding of QA, system test plans and system testing
  • Eliciting and documenting System Functional and Non-Functional Requirements
