Project Manager - NHS / IT healthcare systems experience - United Kingdom - remote working

Suitable for:  Senior Project Manager or Programme Manager with NHS / healthcare system or software experience

Location:  Homebased + client travel

Salary:  to £60k + £5655 car allowance

Our client is looking for a Project Manager with NHS / IT healthcare systems experience.  Essentially the role is responsible for all aspects of planning and deploying complex healthcare IT systems and services at NHS Trust and Health-Community level including the management of the client and 3^rd parties.

Essential experience:

• Min 5 years’ experience working at a Senior Project Manager or Programme Manager level
• Approx 5-10 years NHS or health care domain experience
• Practical experience in the delivery of large-scale IT led business change projects, ideally in an NHS setting such as the replacement of a hospital or mental health system
• In depth knowledge of the NHS and Healthcare Information Systems
• Understanding of the operational procedures within one or more care settings (ie Acute/Secondary Care, Mental Health, Primary Care etc)
• Experience of working in a consultancy role (internal or external) and comfortable dealing with stakeholders at board level
• Project management methodologies – Prince2 is an advantage
• Medical/clinical systems awareness or a clinical background an advantage

The Role:

• The Project Manager will be responsible for ensuring buy in from all parties, including client and 3^rd parties
• Presenting and reporting to project boards and senior management
• Achieving milestone sign off, aspects of which may have dependencies upon client and 3^rd parties
• Identifying and managing project issues and risks and escalating appropriately
• Ensuring the overall solution, including operational procedures and workarounds is fit for purpose
• Direct management of team(s) to deploy the solution
• Providing demonstrations and workshops to the client and supplier
• Providing consultancy around Change Management aspects of the projects
