Position:  Software Project Manager

Suitable for: Software Project Manager or Technical Project Manager or Agile Project Manager or Project Manager with software development experience

Location:  Homebased + Leeds 1-2 times a week

Salary: £40k - £60k DOE + Bonus

Working for an IT software solutions business, the Software Project Manager will be responsible for delivering a number of client software / web projects involving liaising with both the internal delivery team as well as the client.

There is also a requirement to attend meetings at the office and client sites as required, with home-based working for the rest of the week.  Free parking is provided.

Essential Experience / Attributes Required:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience as Software Project Manager or Agile Project Manager or similar
  • Experience in project management of Software/Web type projects
  • Analytical skills and problem-solving
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to meet deadlines, identify issues and resolve with minimal direction
  • Ability to multi-task while being productive
  • Work independently as well as within your team and project members

Desirable:

  • Technical support of the team in case of complex solutions as required – desirable
  • Support in technical documentation creation - desirable
  • Assess and address technical risks – desirable
  • Any experience of agile software delivery - desirable

The Role:

  • Communicate with the client to build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships; ensure clients’ demands are satisfied
  • Review and send project reports to the client
  • Maximise sales opportunities with the clients
  • Pre-sale process management (gather project requirements, understand goals, communicate to the team, create proposals)
  • Educate the Client on dev processes (estimates, dev process, etc.)
  • Identify and provide the team with all necessary information (with the exception of requirement docs) from the client
  • Ability to work well with internal teams, including developers, engineers, architects, quality assurance, and operations. Ensure requirements are fully understood and that implementation plans match expectations.
  • Translate to the team all Client’s expectations, business needs
  • Make a project introduction to the team before the project start
  • Monitor and control project milestones deadlines.
  • Take part in demos, calls, be aware of tasks delivered
  • Manage project financials including initial estimates, budgets, and forecasts
  • Effective management of project schedule, and project costs if any changes appear (with BA)
  • Ask for clients’ feedback and provide feedback to the project team for purpose of enhancing the quality of service
  • Technical aspects to be translated and well-presented to the Client
  • Attend Client meetings onsite as and when the project requires
